Optimus V1 is Tesla's first internally designed humanoid prototype, shown at AI Day on 30 September 2022 alongside Bumble C, a walking development platform built with semi-off-the-shelf actuators. V1 used Tesla-designed actuators, battery, controls and a central SoC, with 28 fundamental body DOF and five-finger hands using six actuators for 11 DOF each. A torso-integrated 2.3 kWh, 52 V battery was sized for roughly a full workday, with wireless connectivity, audio and hardware-level safety. Tesla's statement that a future high-volume product might cost below USD 20,000 was a forecast, not a V1 selling price; V1 was never commercially sold.
